What Is It

What is root canal treatment?

Root canal treatment (RCT) is a procedure to remove infected or damaged pulp tissue from inside a tooth — eliminating pain, stopping the spread of infection and saving the natural tooth from extraction. At Casa Dentique, the procedure is performed using modern rotary endodontic equipment that makes it faster, more precise and considerably more comfortable than older techniques.

🚨

When Do You Need a Root Canal?

Severe toothache, prolonged sensitivity to hot or cold, darkening of the tooth, swelling or a persistent pimple on the gum — these are signs the pulp inside your tooth may be infected.

🔩

Rotary Endodontics

Casa Dentique uses motorised rotary nickel-titanium files rather than manual hand files. The result is a faster, more consistent procedure with significantly reduced patient discomfort.

✅

Single-Sitting Options

Many root canals at Casa Dentique are completed in a single appointment of 60–90 minutes. Multi-visit treatment is used for complex cases or active infection.

👑

Crown After Root Canal

After root canal treatment, the tooth is weakened and requires a dental crown to restore its strength and prevent fracture. Dr. Anjali Katti plans both at the same consultation.

Emergency Root Canal

Suffering from severe tooth pain right now? Emergency root canal appointments are available same-day, Mon–Sat 11am–9pm.

Transparent Cost Plan

Costs are explained before treatment begins. Root canal cost at Casa Dentique is discussed in full at your consultation.

The Process

Step by step — what to expect.

1

Examination & X-Ray

Dr. Anjali Katti takes a digital X-ray to assess the infection, the root structure and the surrounding bone. A treatment plan is explained and costed at this stage.

2

Local Anaesthesia

The area around the tooth is numbed with local anaesthesia. You should feel no pain during the procedure — only mild pressure.

3

Pulp Removal

A small opening is made in the crown of the tooth. The infected or dead pulp tissue is removed from the root canals using rotary nickel-titanium files.

4

Canal Cleaning & Shaping

The root canals are cleaned, shaped and irrigated with antiseptic solution to eliminate bacteria and debris.

5

Filling the Canals

The cleaned canals are filled with a biocompatible material called gutta-percha and sealed to prevent re-infection.

6

Crown Placement

A dental crown is placed over the treated tooth at a follow-up appointment to restore strength and protect against fracture.

FAQs

Root canal questions answered.

Is root canal treatment painful at Casa Dentique?+
With modern rotary techniques and effective local anaesthesia, root canal treatment at Casa Dentique is considerably more comfortable than patients expect — typically no more uncomfortable than a filling.
How many sittings does a root canal take?+
Many cases are completed in a single sitting of 60–90 minutes. Complex cases or teeth with active infection may require two sittings. Dr. Anjali Katti will advise at your consultation.
Is it better to do root canal or extraction?+
In most cases, saving your natural tooth through root canal treatment is the better long-term option. Extraction leads to bone loss and requires a bridge or implant — which costs more overall.
What is the cost of root canal treatment in Seawoods?+
Cost depends on which tooth is being treated (front teeth have fewer roots than molars) and the complexity of the case. A full cost plan is provided at consultation.
Do I need a crown after root canal treatment?+
Yes — in almost all cases. A root canal-treated tooth is weakened and requires a dental crown to protect it from fracture. Dr. Anjali Katti plans both together.
